Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Client :: Hilltop Facility, L.L.C.
This Owner needed more space for fundraising events and community education, and because of the nature of the facility, desired to maximize sustainability of natural resources. This 2,050 sq.ft. project more than doubles the existing meeting space and features the Beverly Brown Coates Auditorium along with a conference room and warming kitchen. Anchoring the new education facility to the existing open-air pavilion is a new courtyard which will extend the indoor space into the landscape and work in concert with natural systems to utilize water and plant resources in a sustainable way. As well as for educational programming, the new structure will also host fundraising events. This project was the LSU System’s first LEED-certified building and is the final piece of a 1999 master building plan by Lake Flato Architects of San Antonio, Texas.
"Lincoln Builders actually made it possible for us to realize our vision and mission for an environmental, energy-efficient design, going beyond our expectations of a building team partner."
Peggy Davis Coates, Executive Director-LSU Hilltop Arboretum
